U18s 1–1 Whitstable Town U18s
Deal Town U18s battled to a hard-fought draw against a strong Whitstable Town side in a fiercely competitive fixture.
The game began at a high tempo, with Deal coming close early on as an effort rattled the crossbar. Their positive start was soon rewarded midway through the first half when a well-worked corner found Louie Jordan at the back post, who rose highest to head home and make it 1–0.
Moments later, Whitstable played a long ball in behind that drew the Deal goalkeeper off his line. After a scramble and a resulting foul against Whitstable, the referee controversially sent off the Deal keeper, leaving the hosts to play over an hour with ten men.
Tom Smith stepped up to take over in goal and delivered an excellent performance, pulling off several key saves to keep Deal in front.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Deal defended resolutely and looked set to claim all three points. However, late in the game, Whitstable found an equaliser — good work down the wing led to a dangerous cross and a well-taken volley that levelled the score at 1–1.
In the dying moments, Deal had one final opportunity when a driving run from midfield led to a looping effort that just cleared the bar. The whistle soon followed, and the points were shared after an intense and spirited contest.
U16s 3 - 1 Chatham Town
Deal Town produced a fantastic performance this afternoon to earn a fully deserved 3–1 victory over a strong Chatham Town side in a fiercely competitive cup tie.
Deal started brightly, moving the ball well and creating early chances. Their positive play was rewarded when a superb delivery from a set piece caused problems in the Chatham box — Ollie rose well to win the header, and Yasis reacted quickest to tap home from close range and make it 1–0.
Chatham responded with a spell of pressure, beginning to get numbers in midfield and momentarily overrunning Deal in central areas. In response, we made some tactical adjustment, matching Chatham’s shape and regaining control going into half-time with the 1–0 lead intact.
The players came out in the second half fully focused and executed the game plan perfectly. The middle third became a real physical battle, but Deal rose to the challenge. pressing aggressively, winning duels, and combining well in tight areas. A sharp sequence of quick passes opened up space and sent Edwin through on goal, and he finished confidently to make it 2–0.
Deal continued to defend superbly, with every player putting in a shift and the goalkeeper producing a top performance when called upon. With Chatham pushing on, another well timed through ball released Edwin again his pace took him past the centre-back and he calmly slotted home for 3–0.
Chatham did pull one back late on, but Deal remained composed and managed the closing stages professionally to see out the game 3–1 and secure their place in the next round of the cup.
We would also like to wish Evan a speedy recovery after suffering an injury during the game. Being stretchered off and having to go to hospital.

U13s 7-0 Herne Bay
Deal Town U13s made it 3 consecutive league victories as they eased past a winless Herne Bay side.
The home side were on the front foot from the first minute, pressing high up the pitch and pinning their opponents back.
Thomas volleyed a deep Beeden free kick into the side netting before King curled a shot just over the bar after good pressure from Styles.
The deadlock was broken inside 10 minutes as Husk stabbed a ball forward for Thomas to chase and despite being second favourite he reached the ball first and fired home at the near post.
Johnson had been a spectator so far but was called into action to make a smart save diving to his left and Deal were fortunate to see the rebound scrambled clear.
This proved to be as close as Herne Bay came to scoring in the first half as Deal scored 3 goals in the space of 7 minutes.
Talling did brilliantly to win the ball in midfield before releasing Styles, the defender did well to win the ball back but his back pass was short and Deane nipped in and his deft touch span viciously past the goalkeeper and in to the net.
Husk and King then combined to create the third goal, the former won the ball and fed the latter who rode a challenge before releasing Thomas down the inside right channel and he smashed home via the far post.
From the restart the ball found Johnson at the back and his long clearance looped over everyone and found the onrushing King who controlled the ball before slotting home.
HT 4-0
The second half was a stalemate for almost 20 minutes before Deane burst into life having been found by King and as he rounded the last defender he was cynically bought down inside the area.
King stepped up but his low penalty was pushed away.
Deal were pushing for another goal, Smith shot over before Bishopp hit the side netting.
Thomas was reintroduced and made an instant impact, latching on to Deane’s flick before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home.
Bishopp and Linkins then combined down the left and after a low cross found Thomas he pulled the ball back perfectly into the path of Talling who stroked the ball into the bottom corner.
Herne Bay had a half chance to grab a consolation goal as the striker broke on to a loose ball, but he could only steer his shot wide, and the scoring was completed moments later as Thomas’ cross found Bishopp who fed Linkins inside the area, the striker showed quick feet to shift the ball before finding Deane who smashed home for his second.
An excellent team performance with a third consecutive league clean sheet, a well executed game plan in midfield and some clinical finishing upfront all combining for the 3 points.
