Deal Town FC

Josh Vincent brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Deal Town’s backline. Josh came through the youth system at Folkestone Invicta and went on to make over 600 appearances across 15 seasons for the club between 2008 and 2022.

Originally a right wing-back, later right-back, Josh transitioned to centre-half in the later stages of his career. After a season at Faversham Town, he joined Deal Town in 2023, seeking a move that suited both his body and style of play. He has quickly become a key part of the squad, valued for his defensive reading of the game, organising the defence and his calm presence on the ball.

Josh has also proven an occasional goal threat over the years, scoring more than 50 goals during his time at Folkestone, and he still sets himself seasonal targets from set-pieces. These days however his focus is on keeping clean sheets rather than scoring goals, reflecting his evolution from a flying wing-back to an experienced central defender.

JV’s favourite moment so far in a Deal shirt came in the 4–1 away win at Merstham, which he described as a turning point in the team’s strong run of form last season.

Off the pitch, Josh is a farmer on his family’s arable farm in Elham, near Canterbury.
